What a wonderful thing we Ethiopians have heard in Norway! Hydro-YARA, the organization which gave the undeserved award to Meles Zenawi, has become more naked in the Norwegian newspapers. Yara is one of the biggest producers of artificial fertilizers in our world. while the whole world is expressing and praising the usefulness of organic farming contrary to using chemicals as fertilizers and pesticides; it has become vague to the international community watching fertilizer producer YARA awarding a fertilizer buyer and dictator Meles Zenawi. The drama is over and YARA has become a laughing point among western politicians, journalists and human right activists.

Now, the worst picture of YARA- Hydro has come to the Norwegian public more than ever. The Norwegian Hydro, which is the founder and a main body of YARA is continuously criticized in the Norwegian newspapers for its involvement with the Nazi occupation forces during the second world war. Many concrete evidences have been gathered by Norwegian and German researchers how Hydro(YARA) worked hand in hand with Hitler and the occupying NAZI forces in Norway.

 After the end of the second world war, many Germans were punished in Germany for their collaboration with Hydro during the war. The History of Hydro-YARA has a dark and ugly side not only for Ethiopians but also for Norwegians who fought hard to free their country from the demonish Nazi occupants. Hydro-Yara  has displayed its immoral and selfish attitudes too early by betraying peace and equality loving Norwegians and most of all the patriotic anti- Nazi Norwegian troops of "Hjemmefronten". Its treacherous act has been severely condemned by justice seeking Norwegians who are concerned  primarily for humanity than economic benefits. Hydro-Yara has shown repeatedly in history that it doesn't show any consideration to humanity but its main aim and target is to achieve its economic interest at the expense of others life and freedom.

 The Hydro-Yara of 1940s had given more priority to its economic interests and collaborated with Nazis and directly involved in exploiting prisoners of war and Jews in a very degrading manner. Hydro benefited a lot from prisoners of war in a way the old days of slave owners had exploited Africans in America.

 As history repeats it self in one way or the other, the same company has committed a severe treacherous act against the Ethiopian people by awarding one of the well known dictators in Africa who is responsible for the death of many innocent civilians who were killed in a broad day light protesting against the undemocratic governance of EPRDF.

 Shame on Hydro-Yara!!!

 Finally, I want to thank the Norwegian historians who uncovered the most ugly and disgusting history of the Norwegian Hydro -Yara. I would like to thank also the journalists of the most popular Norwegian news papers "Aftenposten" date 22,sept. 2005 and "Dagens Næringsliv " date 22 Sept. 2005.
